About Me

buying a car that is affordable to own

When I was looking for a new car, I wanted to take my time and make the best possible decision. I wanted to know what car was going to be the most affordable to maintain, repair and drive every day. I wanted a car that wasn't going to rust out or require repairs often. I basically wanted something that may cost me a little more to buy, but would not cost me much to keep for the next ten years. After spending weeks researching different types of cars, I have learned a lot about the different cars on the market and my blog contains everything that I have learned.

Finding The Best Buy On A New Kia Optima That Meets Your Requirements

When shopping for new Kias for sale, one place to start is at the dealership in your area. New car dealers will often have the best selection of cars, offering you a good chance of finding the one you want with all the things you need.

Set Your Budget

When looking at new Kias for sale, set a budget that you can afford and stick to that amount. Buying a new Kia Optima that has all the things you need but is over budget can become hard to pay for later. Some dealers will have cars on the lot that are leftovers from the previous model year but are still brand new.

The discount on leftovers can be substantial and may allow you to get more for your money and still stay within your budget. In many cases, the dealer is trying to liquidate the leftover vehicles, so they may have them listed low and still be willing to haggle a little on the price.

Let the salesperson know up front that you need to stay in a specific range, and if they can't work with that, try a different dealership in the area. There is no point in overextending yourself if you don't have to, and there are often other dealers selling the same cars at dealerships in the area.

Base Model Cars

Getting a great deal on a new Kia Optima may mean buying a base model car to get the current manufacturing year. The base model is not always a stripped-down version, and sometimes the car will have most of the same accessories, but the interior may be vinyl instead of cloth, the wheels may not be as fancy, or the engine size may be a little smaller.

Evaluate the options available to determine if a base model will work for you, or talk to the salesperson about models with trim levels that fall in the middle between the base model and the loaded cars. You may find you can add some things that are not as important to you, so the mid-tier trim package may be a better option and still have a great price.

Lease Versus Financing

If you are looking for a way to reduce the cost of your new Kia Optima, you may want to consider a lease instead of financing the car and buying it outright. The lease payments are often lower, and if you decide to keep the vehicle at the end of the lease, you can continue to make your payments.

Most lease programs allow you to trade the car without penalties at the end of the lease as long as you are under the mileage cap. You can start again with a new lease if you like, or walk away and buy something completely different.
